PCF Aviation Fly In's

Low fog led Pigs Can Fly to become Pigs Can Drive in order to get to the Salinas Airshow.

A total of 4 airplanes and 10 people took advantage of the beautiful weather to attend the Columbia Airport Camping Fly In.  Activities included Horseshoes, Frisbee Golf, BBQ, Desnity Altitute Takeoff Practice, Nature Walks and tours of the Historic Gold Mining Town of Columbia.  Also one near death experience for Joe Emenaker involving a BBQ, lighter fluid and a match (see photo below).

The First PCF Aviation Fun Fly Skills Challenge was a huge success.  PCF wants to thank all of the participants.  The team of Kevin Lovell and Clint Davis were the overall champions with 202 points.  Matt Bolton and Dan Cotter were second with 258 points and Ryan Svetz and Matt Pittenger was third with 276 points.  The Individual event winners were:
Ground Tow: Shawn Ashby and Phil Tarver
Spot Landing: Kevin Lovell and Clint Davis
Flour Drop: Kevin Lovell and Clint Davis
Best Landing: Ryan Svetz and Matt Pittenger: 22 feet
Best Flour Drop: Matt Bolton and Dan Cotter: 10 feet

PCF Aviation joined our friends from Channel Islands Aviation for a Fly-In to the Palm Springs Air Museum for a special private group tour.  April 18 marked the anniversary of the 1942 Doolittle Raid on Tokyo and the tour wasbe capped by a B-25 aerial demonstration.

PCF joined our friends from Channel Islands Aviation for a Fly In to San Diego's Montgomery Field.  We were joined by John and Martha King who agreed to come to San Luis Obispo in June to address PCF's members in a private presentation
